HISTORICAL OVERVIEW
Labradorite was first discovered in Labrador, Canada in the late 18th century and named after its locality. Finnish varieties, known as Spectrolite, are especially valued for their vivid rainbow flashes. Inuit legends describe Labradorite as containing the frozen fire of the Aurora Borealis, released when struck by a warrior’s spear.
