HISTORICAL OVERVIEW
Sugilite was first discovered in Japan in 1944 by petrologist Ken-ichi Sugi, after whom it was named. It gained recognition in the late 20th century when deposits in South Africa revealed striking purple specimens. Known as a “New Age Stone,” Sugilite is celebrated for its association with spiritual love, healing, and protection.
