HISTORICAL OVERVIEW
Umbalite Garnet was discovered in Tanzania’s Umba Valley in 1978, named after its locality. It is a mix of pyrope and almandine garnet with traces of spessartine, giving rise to its distinctive pink‑violet hues. Initially overlooked in the gem trade, Umbalite later gained recognition as a rare and valuable garnet variety. In metaphysical traditions, Umbalite is considered a stone of emotional healing, compassion, and self‑worth, encouraging love and confidence while fostering spiritual growth.
